Overview | Course Sequence
The concurrent degree option provides an opportunity for students to pursue a business administration degree in addition to a health services administration degree. An MBA may be earned by pursuing additional hours of MBA graduate level course work in the Williams College of Business at Xavier University. Candidates for both degrees should declare their intentions when applying and submit one application to the graduate program in health services administration and one application to the Williams College of Business. Concurrent degree candidates must be accepted to both the GPHSA and MBA programs.
Students in the full-time MHSA program are required to complete 99 credit hours: 57 credit hours of health services administration coursework, 9 credit hours of administrative residency and the master's project and 33 credit hours of business coursework, plus the necessary prerequisites. Executive MHSA students pursuing the EMHSA/MBA are required to complete 75 credit hours: 42 credit hours of health services coursework and 33 hours of business coursework, plus the necessary prerequisites. Upon completion of the concurrent degree option, the student receives two separate degrees - the Master of Health Services Administration and the Master of Business Administration.
